Paeonia 'Sword Dance'
Very large and distinct japanese style peony, with deep carmine red outer petals, and with the brightest centre of narrow red petals edged with gold. This would make a stunning centrepiece for the June garden. As a bonus the foliage is deep and lush, and sturdy stems mean the plants do not need staking. Flowering over an extended period this is one superlative garden peony. Height around 90cm. (Auten 1933).
