Paeonia 'Mr G F Hemerik'
On paper this shouldn't work! This stand-alone peony has broad lipstick pink outer petals petals with a bright centre of saffron yellow . The dark glossy leaves are distinctly ribbed and is some of the best foliage of any peony. This is a fine and late flowering peony growing to around 90cms in height.
Paeonia 'Shimane Hakugan'
Elegant blooms of pure milk white. In the centre of each flower a ring of golden stamens surrounds a single rich red carpel. Outstandingly beautiful in simplicity, this is one of the most sought after of all the tree peonies. Not always available. Be patient with this plant while it establishes, because ultimately the thrill of seeing those milky white blooms will be worth the wait! Height and spread after 8 years approx 120cm x 90cm.

A fast-growing, evergreen shrub ideal for screening relatively quickly, with bright green, glossy leaves and bearing small, insignificant green flowers in spring sometimes followed by purple fruits.

Broadly triangular fronds held at a distinct angle. This is a particularly striking form of Polystichum setiferum which always stands out. Makes a striking evergreen specimen plant up to 75cm in height and spread. This is a really good woodland plant, excelling in damp shade.

A vigorous, evergreen shrub of dense, upright habit with glossy, spiny, dark green foliage and bearing pendular racemes of dark orange flowers in spring, occasionally again in autumn followed by round, blue-black fruits.
Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Tom Thumb'
A great evergreen shrub with purple, wavy leaves and dark stems. Certainly a striking plant for the border or grown as a specimen owing to its dense, rounded habit. Pittosporums generally are best planted in a slightly sheltered aspect to prevent damage from cold, drying winds.

Paeonia 'Top Brass'
Beautiful large blowsy full double blooms. The outer petals are broad ivory white with an coloured explosion in the centre of the flower of ivory to canary yellow narrow petals. An immensely good doer in the garden and excellent for cutting. Grows to around 90cms in height but will rarely need staking. (Klehm 1968).
Buxus sempervirens
A slow-growing, evergreen shrub which makes an incredibly versatile garden plant. It's tight habit allows for it to be clipped easily either to form a formal, low hedge or into topiary shapes. It is happy growing in full sun, though with dry soil as well this can lead to leaf scorch, so regular watering would be recommended in such a situation. It will also benefit from a good foliar feed to encourage the leaves to maintain their deep green colour.
Hebe 'New Zealand'
Evergreen shrub forming a neat, dense mound of dark green foliage. A small-leaved Hebe reminiscent of Buxus, it produces white flowers in summer.

A really sumptuous peony and one of the best in this hue. Deep ruby red double scented flowers that become more purple as they mature. It's also a really good peony for cutting. Dark and lustrous foliage which adopts rich tints in the autumn. Grows to around 90cm but is robust and rarely needs staking. (Seit 1937)
Abelia 'Edward Goucher'
A graceful, arching, evergreen shrub bearing pale pink flowers from midsummer to autumn. Best planted in a sheltered position whether against a wall or with other shrubs that will provide shelter from cold, drying winds.
Digitalis lutea
A more reliably perennial foxglove than many, this variety has glossy, rich green leaves shooting up stout stems in early summer bearing soft yellow, tubular flowers throughout June and July. Particularly attractive to pollinating insects they look great when interspersed among ferns in a woodland setting.

Camellia japonica 'Brushfield's Yellow'
An upright, evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green foliage and in winter and spring, bearing double, creamy-white flowers with a yellow centre. Camellias are best grown in a sheltered position to prevent frost damage to the buds, and need to be planted in slightly acidic soil or ericaceous compost if planted in pots.

Rosa mundi
A sport of officinalis probably from Norwich, which appeared in the mid-16th century. It has white stripes irregularly splashed across the petals. A popular variety and very widely grown. Occasionally a few flowers or the odd branch may revert back to the original officinalis. These are best removed to prevent the entire plant from reverting.
